10 MINUTEBLOCKS
Guide · Getting started & features

How 10MB works

Track your life in ten-minute blocks, see where the hours actually go, and steer the next day with intent. Start with the basics, then explore everything 10MB can do — all free.

01 The big idea

A day in 10MB is a grid: 24 hours, six blocks an hour, 144 blocks in all. Each block is ten minutes — short enough to be honest, long enough to be worth logging. Instead of guessing where your time went, you paint each block with the thing you were actually doing.

Ten minutes is the whole trick. It's a unit you can feel. Six focus blocks is an hour of real work. Three meal blocks is a slow lunch. By the end of the day the grid is a picture of how you spent it — no stopwatch, no timers running, just a quick honest fill-in.

02 Paint your day

Painting is the core loop, and it's meant to take seconds. Pick a category — your brush — then drop it onto the blocks you spent that way.

  1. Pick a brush

In the category panel, click the category you want to log — Focus, Work, Move, and so on. The selected brush shows at the top of the panel.

  2. Click or drag across blocks

Click any block to fill it. Press and drag to paint a whole run at once — handy for a long stretch of sleep or a deep-work afternoon.

  3. Fix mistakes with the eraser

Switch the brush to Clear and paint over anything you want to reset. Blocks you haven't touched stay empty and show their start time.

Faster still

Every category has a letter. Press it to switch brushes without leaving the grid, then click or drag — see keyboard shortcuts below.

03 Set up your categories

Categories are how time gets grouped. 10MB ships with a starter set, and each one carries a color and a single-letter key so it's quick to recognize and quick to paint.

F
Focus
Deep, undistracted work
W
Work
Meetings, email, shallow tasks
B
Break
Rest, pauses, breathing room
M
Move
Exercise, walks, anything active
E
Meal
Cooking and eating
S
Social
Time with other people

Make them yours

Add a category with the New category button, name it, and pick a color from the palette — 10MB assigns a free letter automatically. Renamed your priorities for the season? Archive a category to retire it from the brush list without losing its history. Archived categories keep every block you ever painted with them.

04 Score & note the day

Painting tells you what you did. The day score tells you how it felt. When you wrap a day, give it one number from 0 to 100 and, if you like, a short note.

The number is deliberately blunt — it's a gut read, not a formula. Over weeks those scores line up next to your blocks, and patterns surface: the shape of a genuinely good day, the categories that quietly drag a score down. The note is a gift to future you. Past you will thank present you.

Keep it light

Don't agonize over the exact number. A two-second instinct, logged every day, beats a perfect score you skip.

05 Keyboard shortcuts

Painting is fastest from the keyboard. Tap a category's letter to load it as the brush, then click or drag on the grid.

06 See what it adds up to

A single painted day is satisfying. A month of them is where 10MB earns its keep. Once you've logged a few days, the dashboard totals your time by category, charts the trend, and surfaces patterns you'd never spot block by block — all with zero setup.

Focus · 45% Work · 27% Break · 16% Move · 12%

07 Wrapped, for any period

Whenever you want to step back, 10MB packages your time into a high-energy recap — the wins, the streaks, and the focus leaks worth fixing. Generate it for any week, month, or year: a year-in-review at a resolution you can actually act on.

08 Stay accountable

Set targets for what matters — deep focus, movement, rest — and 10MB measures each day against the goals you chose. Every logged day adds a link to the chain; the longer it runs, the harder it is to break.

And because tracking only works if you actually do it, you can schedule your own reminders — hourly during work, once at night, or anything in between — so logging never quietly slips.

09 Reflect — chat with your time

Sometimes you don't want a chart; you want an answer. Ask 10MB a plain-language question and it responds with insight drawn straight from your own blocks — no dashboards to navigate, no filters to set.
